Creative Foundations (Ages 8-12)

Tuesdays or Fridays | 5-6PM or 6-7PM | $210 per month

Build core drawing skills in a variety of styles. Students explore shape, proportion, perspective, shading, and light while working with 2D and 3D subjects. Designed to boost independence and confidence in drawing.

Portfolio Development (Teens)

Wednesdays or Thursdays | 4:30-6PM | $290 per month

Ideal for students preparing for high school and post-secondary art programs or looking to take their work to the next level. Focus on portfolio-ready pieces, drawing fundamentals, design, and composition, with personalized guidance. Figure drawing sessions and a practice portfolio review included.

Advanced Studio (Adults)

Tuesdays or Thursdays | 10AM-12PM | $300 per month

For beginners and intermediates ready to take their art and personal style to the next level. Projects are tailored to interests, covering a mix of subjects, media, and styles, with a focus on skill growth and creative exploration.

The Monart Method

Monart Ottawa is the only school in Canada teaching the renowned Monart Method created by the late Mona Brookes. Her celebrated approach builds creative confidence, technical skill, and a genuine love for the artistic process.

The Monart system of drawing shows how to perceive our visual world in terms of 5 basic elements of shape. Our students learn the skills necessary to translate perceptions on to paper. Since 1979, this method has achieved phenomenal results with both children and adults.

We believe that everyone can learn to draw and feel proud of his or her results. All our classes create a nurturing environment in which self-expression and creativity flourish. Each lesson plan is designed with enough structure to ensure success as well as freedom to be creative.
