Monart is designed to make learning art enjoyable and accessible for everyone. Our mission is simple: to help each student, young or adult, discover that anyone can learn to draw.
Canada’s Only Monart Method Art School
Welcome to Monart Ottawa, the only school in Canada teaching the renowned Monart Method created by the late Mona Brookes. Her celebrated approach builds creative confidence, technical skill, and a genuine love for the artistic process.
The Monart system of drawing shows how to perceive our visual world in terms of 5 basic elements of shape. Our students learn the skills necessary to translate perceptions on to paper. Since 1979, this method has achieved phenomenal results with both children and adults.
We believe that everyone can learn to draw and feel proud of his or her results. All our classes create a nurturing environment in which self-expression and creativity flourish. Each lesson plan is designed with enough structure to ensure success as well as freedom to be creative.
